SiMPore co-founder and University of Rochester Prof. Dr. James McGrath will lead a free Workshop at the Microphysiological Systems (MPS) World Summit 2023.
Workshop Topic:
The µSiM (microphysiological system featuring an ultrathin silicon nanomembrane) began as a collection of in vitro tools for the study of nanoparticle and cellular transport across the BBB and the study of infection mechanisms in osteomyelitis. With the introduction of modular components, the µSiM has evolved into a platform for the rapid design and deployment of chips customized to test a particular hypothesis and to make novel in situ measurements. This workshop will give an overview of the µSiM and its evolution, teach the process for the custom design of chips featuring nanomembranes, and present examples of components and modules at various stages of development.
